We're Home!

Charlotte was finally able to come home on Friday May 23rd, just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend! We are so excited to have her home and she has been a fabulous baby thus far. And of course we think she is just the cutest baby on earth!!!
We've had plenty of visitors and Charlotte really enjoys being held. Luckily she does also love to sleep in her pack n play and bassinet so we can rest our arms for a while. Come on over and visit us!!

A Little Early

So my last post said that I was 36 weeks and counting. Well, turns out I didn't have to count but one more day! Charlotte Olivia arrived a few weeks early on Tuesday May 13th at 11:19pm. She weighed in at 6 lbs 1oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. Since she was technically a preemie and was having a little bit of breathing trouble, she was admitted to the NICU. Currently, she is still there, but we are hoping that she will be able to come home tomorrow. It has been really rough not having her home with us, but we've been able to visit her everyday and see how much she is progressing. She is now in a regular "crib" as she would have been in the newborn nursery and no longer has her IV in. She completed her car seat challenge "test" today and will receive her vaccines tonight. Doc says if all goes well tonight, he is very optimistic about her coming home tomorrow. Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!

36 Weeks and Counting

So I had yet another ultrasound today - finally the last one - as if I have that much time to go back! Everything looks within normal limits and the doc says Ms. Charlotte is measuring 5 lbs 15 ozs. After the ultrasound, I went for my 36 week appointment at the OB/GYN. She checked me and said I am already dilated to 1 cm and 70% effaced. Although this doesn't mean that labor is imminent, she did say that I am one of the lucky ones that begin dilating early so perhaps some of my labor time will be cut out later on. We can only hope I guess!

I guess the news of the 1 cm got me in a bit of a nesting mode. Upon returning to the house, I sorted through clothes, burp cloths, blankets and towels and have begun washing and folding. Not quite sure where I will be storing all of this stuff, but i'll figure that out later.
